Stanley "Beep" Samluk



Stanley (Beep/BeBop) Samluk, 86, of Middletown , DE, formerly of Newark, DE, passed away peacefully on September 12, 2018. Stanley was preceded in death by his mother, Ethel Sobiech and father Stanley Samluk Sr. Stan worked at Hercules for nearly 40 years before retiring in 1988. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend.

Beep loved fishing, hunting, and crabbing with his family and friends. He especially enjoyed bowling with the love of his life, Mert. Being a coach was a passion of Beep's. In addition to coaching his children and grandchildren, he spent 30 plus years with Newark National Little League. Beep and his friend, Al Bulgreen, were instrumental in obtaining the property at Gallaher fields. Their many years of dedication and service were recognized with fields named in their honor.

Beep will be remembered for his spirited personality and contagious laughter. He could light up a room with his jokes, pranks, and orneriness. BeBop saw the positive in every situation and brought the best out of those who knew him. BeBop will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Beep is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Marylin Powell Samluk, son Stephen Samluk (Rose), daughter Judi Poore (Pat), brother David (Sue Anne), 10 grandchildren, and 10 great- grandchildren.

Services will be held at McCrery and Harra Funeral Home, 3710 Kirkwood Highway Wilmington 19808, where friends and family may pay their last respects on Sunday, September 16th from 4-6pm.
